Lala Baptiste Issues Strong Statement About Money
Lala Baptiste responded to the perceived narrative that she used her ex-fiancé, ‘Solid‘ rapper Jay Cinco. The social media influencer and Cinco broke up months after Raine Willow-Dominique Parker‘s arrival.
After the duo’s breakup, a video montage of Baptiste repeatedly telling Cinco that he wasn’t her “type” went viral. Subsequently, folks suggested that she’d only been using the rapper throughout the public romance. However, the model and brand ambassador recently shared a statement on her Instagram Stories, clapping back. And no words were minced.
“The ‘using someone for money’ narrative is getting tired,” Baptiste wrote. “I’ve always had my own, with or without a man, and our relationship was always equally yoked-I’II never discredit that. The internet & clip culture is frying y’all’s brains. Sometimes two people that love each other can simply choose to move forward in a healthy way without it needing to be messy. And for the record, I left only with what I purchased myself. Now go find hobbies pls.”
Couple Breaks Up Months After Lala Baptiste Gave Birth
Cinco proposed to Lala Baptiste in March 2026 during a live stream at their baby shower. Several weeks later, on May 7, 2026, Baptiste announced her daughter’s birth on Instagram. “Raine Willow-Dominique Parker 👼🏼🎀 Our little Princess finally arrived,” wrote Baptiste. “And she’s a Taurus like her mommy✨.”
However, by October, the couple had broken up. The Shade Room Teens reported that both Cinco and Baptiste announced their breakup on Instagram Stories on Friday, October 2. The statements were nearly identical and stated their intent to separate and focus on themselves and raising their daughter.
“Just wanted to share for our supporters since so much of our relationship has been public,” read Cinco’s statement, adding that the couple, “…have mutually decided to go our separate ways for now and focus on ourselves. There’s no bad blood, no big story behind it, and we have nothing but love and respect for each other. Most importantly, we’ll always be a family and continue showing up together for our daughter, so you’ll still see us all together from time to time. We’re at peace with this decision and just ask that our privacy is respected as we navigate this new chapter.”

@lliyaaahhh replied, “Mind you she had a baby by a man who is not her ‘type’ & was engaged to him ????”
User @_steen.x added, “Girlll you used him for a baby please go play go play.”
However, @hocus.pocus86 had a different take on the matter. “I’m so confused how y’all came to the conclusion that she was using him for money when she was literally traveling the world for brand deals and living her life while jay cinco was in the trenches😭… The girl clearly had money and her own lifestyle way before him, so what exactly was she supposedly using him for?”
