Drake’s rep has shut down rumors about the rapper’s paternity. Speculation grew after Keshia Chanté announced that she is seven months pregnant. Drake is the father of 8-year-old Adonis, whom he co-parents with Sophie Brussaux.
Drake’s team weighed in as speculation about Keshia Chanté’s baby spread
Keshia Chanté took to Instagram to announce her pregnancy. In the moving message, she thanked God for the beautiful gift of a baby boy. She also said that she “can’t wait to meet you!” Chanté also hinted that the father works in the music industry. “Mommy & Daddy are so excited to welcome you into the world. Oh, and we’ve already got you booked & busy. Dada’s got your studio locked and we expect your album to drop summer 2027.”
Chanté and Drake dated as teenagers in Toronto, with Drake later calling her his first girlfriend and someone he loved deeply. That history, along with Chanté’s comments about the baby’s father working in music, fueled speculation that Drake could be the father. However, a rep for Drake denied the rumors, telling E! News, “It’s false.”
The “Unpredictable” singer told Hello! Canada, “I’m very free-spirited, and whatever the universe wants for me, I’ll have.” She also hinted at her “unavailable” relationship status. “But he said he was ready. He set up the play and he nailed it! God bless him,” she said.
The singer described her partner as “brilliant and super creative and just constantly doing things that I’m inspired by.” She continued, “I would love to see my son have his mannerisms and his swag.”
Meanwhile, Drake has been working on his music career and lashing back at rumors surrounding him. He previously clapped back at speculation that he puts hot sauce in condoms to kill sperm. The rapper shares 8-year-old son Adonis with Sophie Brussaux. Drake has been open about the hardships of raising Adonis during the early years.
“I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who, we’ve had our moments,” the 39-year-old shared on HBO’s The Shop in October 2018. “I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But I don’t have any desire for him to not love his mother. I don’t ever want the world to be angry at his mother.”
