Ben Affleck says their children spend one week with him and the next with Garner
Ben Affleck, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming film, Animals, got candid about his life as a father. In an interview with Variety published on October 7, he shared the custody arrangement he has with Jennifer Garner. He said, “I work hard, and then I go home and pick up the kids from school. We have dinner if they agree to hang out with me. They’re with me for a week, then with their mom for a week.”
The Gone Girl star also mentioned that he is “grateful” for his friendly co-parenting relationship with his ex. “They have a great thing with their mom, for whom I’m also really, really grateful,” he said. “I know things will come up that are hard, and I don’t want to jinx that, but this time in my life as a human being is really wonderful.”
Affleck revealed that through his and Matt Damon’s production studio, Artists Equity, they are trying to ensure that Los Angeles remains “an important hub for film.” When asked how he plans to do it, he said, “Wanting to be here. I’m divorced, I have shared custody, and I don’t want to miss these years. My kids are here, and their life is flying by.”
He added, “I don’t want to have to be in Shreveport or New Mexico in order to work. I know some people don’t have the luxury of making those choices. I’m certainly fortunate.” He concluded that he knows some of the best film crews are in Los Angeles.
