Cyberpunk 2077 is already almost six years old, but it arguably doesn’t feel like it came out more than half a decade ago, and it certainly doesn’t seem older than a year or two in terms of its graphical fidelity. Of course, this is largely because of Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion and the game going back and forth to a ripperdoc itself, tweaking and improving everything it had to offer little by little until it became the polished product fans now adore.
The ceiling of Cyberpunk 2077’s legacy is impossibly high, and it’s only just beginning to spread out into other corners of popular culture while CD Projekt Red shifts a lot of its attention to The Witcher. For example, it’s terrific that fans will soon have a Cyberpunk TCG to play and invest in, and it only makes sense for Cyberpunk 2077 to have eventually paid homage to its humble tabletop origins.
On YouTube, Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game publisher Go On Board has shared an in-depth, eight-minute-long unboxing video to go over almost everything that’s included in crowdfunding pledges for the All-In set. This includes all gameplay expansions—Phantom Liberty, Trauma Team, Edgerunners, and Johnny Silverhand & NCPD—the Terrain Pack visual upgrade, and the Stretch Goals box, as well as their associated mission cards, character boards, room tiles, unpainted miniatures, and so forth.
All in all, it’s a lot, and worthy of a dedicated video to at least briefly touch on everything that players can expect to see from their All-In pledge. Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game’s extended preorder late-pledge window ends on July 20.
Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game being so gargantuan and elaborate is a testament to how immensely rich Cyberpunk 2077’s worldbuilding and lore have been within just one game and a season of animated TV. It’s frankly unfathomable, then, how enormous the IP will be when it’s on its third installment, which is when CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher franchise suddenly began to shine brightest.
Games like Cyberpunk TCG and Cyberpunk: The Board Game are brilliant because, assuming they inherit Cyberpunk 2077’s fanbase community wholeheartedly, they can evolve and be developed alongside each new entry of the franchise for decades to come. Like how Bethesda will now be leaning a lot more heavily on Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, and Ubisoft will be leaning a lot more heavily on Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, fans of Cyberpunk 2077 undoubtedly have a lot to look forward to—this board game and its All-In pledge included.
