Welcome back to the latest recap of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Last time, the ladies split into two groups: one bound for Los Olivos and one headed to La Quinta. After having a meltdown, Vicki ordered production to leave her home. Here’s what happened in RHOC Season 20 Episode 11: “A Tale of Two Trips.”
What happened in Real Housewives of Orange County Season 20 Episode 11?
Emily and Jenn left Vicki’s house in La Quinta. Carmella made a decision about her relationship with her boyfriend, Danny Hampel. Meanwhile, Vicki admitted her insecurities to Tamra.
Escape from La Quinta
Last week, Emily and Jenn were frantically packing to flee Vicki’s home. They knew that Vicki’s boyfriend, Michael Smith, was angry, and they felt awkward being there.
Then, Vicki came into the duo’s bedroom and asked why they were packing. “I think you said it would be better if we left,” Emily said. “That is an absolute, 100% lie,” Vicki responded. “I want the crew to leave.” What?!
So, Vicki insisted that they stay. “I already packed up my stuff. I feel like it’s best if maybe we just go,” Emily said as Vicki sliced the pizza.
“I’m really shocked that Jenn and Emily feel it’s important to leave at midnight,” Vicki said in her talking head. “I prepared a lot. I took time off from work for two days. Come out to the desert, showcase my beautiful home, and it’s like they sh*t on it.”
Vicki replied that if they wanted to find a hotel, that was their decision. Shannon whispered to Emily that she was staying. In the end, Jenn and Emily decided to leave ASAP. “This Uber cost $450, and it’s probably going to take two hours, but I don’t care,” Emily noted in her confessional.
“I don’t have any room to talk anymore,” Vicki told Jenn. “You guys do what you want to do.” Vicki whispered to Shannon, “I’m not equipped for this stress.”
Then, Jenn and Emily rolled their suitcases out without so much as a goodbye. Yikes!
Carmella has a theory about Vicki’s engagement ring
Meanwhile, in Los Olivos, the ladies put on their jammies and met up at the fire pit. “Is the ring in the safe at the bank? Or at the house?” Heather asked.
Carmella responded, “I’m gonna bank on there is no ring. The story doesn’t make sense.” Well, Vicki, that’s what happens when you insult Carmella’s pantry.
“You buy a ring for somebody ’cause you’re going to ask them to marry you,” Carmella said. “Unless you break up, you ask them to marry you. I feel bad because, as a woman, that sucks, and I don’t ever want to make another woman feel bad.” However, Heather reminded Carmella that Vicki “mom-shamed you.”
The next morning, Heather showed off the plans for her new apartment. “When our lease was coming to an end, Terry and I talked about it and decided we were done with homes. So, I bought the penthouse below us,” Fancy Pants said in her confessional. Will there be a champagne elevator?
Back in La Quinta, Vicki and Shannon were also planning to head home. Shannon asked what Vicki wanted “to do with the food.” The hostess replied, “Throw it all out because the b*tches didn’t eat anything. Why don’t I give them a Venmo request and they can pay me back for all the money I spent?”
Vicki estimated in her confessional that she spent “roughly $1,000, divided by four. Two hundred and fifty each they owe me.” When Shannon gently pointed out Vicki’s behavior, her comments weren’t well-received. Shocker!
“I’m your friend, and I wanna try and make things better,” Shannon explained. Vicki fired back, “Well, how about they try to make it better?”
The ladies compare notes on their trips
Jenn and Tamra met for lunch to gossip about the two trips. When Jenn mentioned that Vicki didn’t want to discuss her relationship with Mike, Tamra was concerned.
“I do believe that Vicki’s experience with Brooks [Ayers] made her worried,” she said in her talking head. “So, now with Mike, she doesn’t want anybody to know much about him. She doesn’t want to do anything that could upset him.” Next, Jenn explained how Vicki said, “Michael is so pissed,” and shared that she and Emily took an Uber home.
Meanwhile, Emily, Carmella, and Shannon met for tea. Shannon admitted that she wasn’t upset that Jenn and Emily ran for the hills. Then, Emily earned her check by telling Carmella what Vicki said about her.
During the ride to La Quinta, Vicki said that Carmella “should not waste his time,” referring to Carmella’s boyfriend, Danny. She also said that Carmella wasn’t over Danny’s infidelity.
“I have a hard time wrapping my mind around to break up with somebody that you’ve been with for a decade,” the newbie said in her confessional. “But we have struggled post-infidelity with him being dishonest at times.”
While Shannon made excuses for Vicki’s behavior, Carmella revealed that she wasn’t happy with Vicki. “I’m pissed. During our trip, I did hear that Vicki said I don’t even live in that home in Rancho Santa Fe,” Carmella stated. Emily confirmed that Vicki voiced that opinion during the trip.
“That is actually delusional,” Carmella stated. “It was intended to be a six-month rental, but work was crazy, and now I’m there 18 months.”
She added, “She doesn’t want to explain anything about her relationship with Mike, but she’s so quick to judge somebody else’s relationship. Or their home, or where they work, or what they do.”
Carmella’s line in the sand
Carmella and Danny went out for a date night. “My goal is to get married,” Danny told Carmella. “Well, you’ve been married a few times, so I think you’re cut off,” she quipped.
A producer asked, “Is Danny someone you can see yourself marrying?” Carmella responded, “I do not know the answer to that question.”
During dinner, Carmella told Danny, “But there are underlying issues that you also need to work on. You cheated on me. It is imperative that you are completely transparent.”
Carmella explained her concerns in her talking head. “Recently, Danny had messages with this woman. He said he was going to meet her at a property,” Carmella said.
When she asked who it was, he said it was “a real estate agent.” So, Carmella asked if he had dated this woman; he said, “No,” before admitting they went on one date.
Finally, Carmella asked for a six-month goal, and Danny suggested couples’ therapy. “We need to see if we can get there. And if we can’t, we have to stop this,” Carmella stated.
Tamra comforts Vicki
Tamra went to visit Vicki. Vicki called in sick to work, which must be a first. “I’m worried about you for many, many, many reasons. One, your knee. Another, your health,” Tamra said. She added that Jenn “said you lost your mind and you, like, kicked them out of your house.”
Vicki responded, “Jenn lied, and probably Emily will lie too because they’re liars. When they were picking at me in the kitchen, I thought I was going to have a heart attack. They weren’t respecting me or how hard I work.”
She continued, “I’m calm as long as people don’t poke me.” Then, Vicki admitted that sometimes she feels “insecure or feel less than.” Tamra responded, “You are successful, you are beautiful, you have an amazing boyfriend who will be your husband one day.”
Instead, Vicki mentioned her three failed engagements. “I can’t be in a toxic relationship,” she stated. “I am fearful of ever having another failure.” Vicki explained that her family lives far away, and “Mike travels five days a week.”
She reminisced about having a full and busy household. Cue the flashbacks of living with her kids and her ex-hubby, Donn Gunvalson.
“Nobody can fix it. On paper, everything looks perfect,” Vicki stated. “In my heart, in my brain, it’s not.”
Tamra related to not having her kids at home and encouraged Vicki to open up. “Michael is so good to me. But my fear always is, maybe this is too much for him, and he exits out the way the rest of them did.”
“What’s too much? The show?” Tamra asked.
However, Vicki was referring to her stress level. “I don’t like being divorced, and I don’t like not having a forever relationship,” she responded.
