ComingSoon can exclusively reveal the trailer for Sticky, an upcoming horror-comedy film by Seanie Sugrue. The film aims to blend satire and suspense and features many stars from the 1990s. It stars Empire Records and Limitless star Johnny Whitworth, working with The Pitt’s Drew Powell.
“Hollywood is in a panic as another L.A. serial killer lurks in the Hills. Four people have gone missing in the last week, but a couple of washed-up artists think they know who the killer is,” says the official synopsis.

What do we see in the Sticky trailer?
The trailer starts with Whitworth’s character talking to what appears to be an off-screen documentary crew. He reveals that he found a girl on the ground while running at Griffith Park. Footage from other scenes set the stage: Hollywood is in a panic, fearing a new serial killer on the loose. News footage shows the “Hollywood Hills killer” rising in infamy.
Powell’s character reveals that after he visited the Hills, he started suspecting the resident homeless person, Sticky, of being the killer. The rest of the trailer shows the other leads trying to catch Sticky while avoiding problems with other powerful figures. The trailer maintains a whimsical tone, balancing mystery with a mockumentary-style approach to comedy.
Besides Whitworth and Powell, Sticky also stars Vanessa Angel, Jake Weber, Niko Nicotera, Adam Hagenbuch, and Pilot Paisley‑Rose. Sugrue directs the film from a screenplay he wrote himself. The filmmaker previously directed TV shows such as Oh Dalia and Spite, as well as the film Misty Button. He is also set to direct another feature titled Dasher, as well as more short films.
Sticky releases across all major digital TVOD platforms on October 25, 2026.
